DESCRIPTION:Southern Residential Architecture Talk & Book Signing\nSC Center for Architecture: 1530 MAIN ST\, STE C\, COLUMBIA\, SC 29201\n \nThe SC Architectural Foundation will host an Author’s Talk & Book Signing featuring “Contemporary Southern Vernacular: Creating Sustainable Houses for Hot\, Humid Climates”.  Author Architects Jane Frederick\, FAIA and Michael Frederick\, AIA will be present to discuss the recently-published book and sign/sell copies. \nJane Frederick\, FAIA\, a former AIA National President\, brings a distinguished perspective on architecture\, leadership\, and practice\, alongside Michael Frederick’s extensive experience in residential design. This beautifully illustrated book explores how time-honored Southern vernacular traditions\, when paired with modern building science\, can inform sustainable\, resilient\, and context-driven homes suited to the unique challenges of the the Southern climate. \nDoors open at 5 PM.
