DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, October 13\, 12-1 PM \nAIA SC Honor Award Featured Webinar – Hutchinson House Restoration video\, live webinar presentation\, Q&A with Young + Wales\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFree and open to all.\nEnjoy a brief\, professionally-produced video site tour\, led by the architects and clients\, followed by an online studio discussion and Q&A session with the design team! \nRecipient of AIA South Carolina’s highest design award for Historic Preservation/Adaptive Reuse in 2026\, the Hutchinson House was constructed in approximately 1885 by Henry Hutchinson and is one of the few surviving Reconstruction Era homes on Edisto Island built solely by freed people. \nVacant since the 1980s\, the structure had deteriorated significantly. In 2016\, the Edisto Island Open Land Trust (EIOLT) purchased the house\, preserving the historic setting.
