The University of South Carolina is seeking a detail‑oriented, collaborative Project Manager to support the planning, design, and execution of minor capital construction and renovation projects across campus. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and campus stakeholders to deliver high‑quality spaces that enhance the university’s teaching, research, and community mission.
Reporting to the Director of Facilities Planning, Design and Construction, this position manages multiple projects from concept through closeout. Key responsibilities include coordinating design and construction activities, monitoring schedules and budgets, reviewing plans and specifications, overseeing construction administration, managing contract compliance, and preparing regular reports and documentation. The role also involves collaborating with internal departments and ensuring adherence to state and university standards, including coordination with the Office of the State Engineer.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, engineering technology, or construction management, plus five years of experience in design and construction. Experience with higher education, medical, or athletics facilities is strongly preferred.
Salary Range:
$54,165 – $78,789
