EdCom works to expand equitable access to licensure, strengthen education and mentorship opportunities, and champion initiatives that elevate professional practice within South Carolina’s architecture community.
All AIA South Carolina members are encouraged to participate.
Whether by suggesting a CE topic, presenting or attending the monthly meetings via Zoom. The meetings are typically the Third Tuesday from 1:00-2:00pm.
Your input is very much welcome as we plan for the following key areas:
- Resilience By Design + COTE webinars and conference
- Annual Meeting (Spring)
- Monthly in-person or virtual trainings
- Aspire Design Conference
- Archtober: A month-long celebration of architecture and design, dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of the built environment. Hosted by AIA chapters across the country, including AIA SC, it features programs and events that highlight architectural excellence and the role of architects in shaping communities. Archtober fosters public engagement, inspires future architects, and promotes thoughtful design that enhances the quality of life.
AIA SC CE Classes
Explore innovative and rigorously curated education programs designed for members in receiving and maintaining their architecture license.
Public health, safety, and welfare.
In order to maintain your license in the state of South Carolina, all registered architects must complete 24 Continuing Education hours every two years and must address public health, safety, and welfare.
In South Carolina, only licensed architects may represent themselves using the title “architect” or engage in the practice of architecture as defined by law. Requirements for licensure include a combination of education and practical experience, and passage of a qualifying series of exams, the Architect Registration Examination® (ARE). Visit the South Carolina Board of Licensing for more information.
Our members lead program development.
AIA South Carolina invites and empowers our members to lead program development to ensure that we are meeting their needs. AIA SC only solicits CE credit for our major education programs and learning events delivered by planning task forces and AIA SC Committees.
Looking to share your own CE opportunities? AIA SC is happy to list your organization’s educational event in our eNews if you are a non-profit organization or one of our Partners / Sponsors or Allied Members and if your event is of special interest to our AIA membership.
For more information or to get involved, suggest a class please contact Spencer Hutchinson, AIA / AIA SC Education Director: info@aiasc.org
Let’s work together.
Your support not only allows AIASC to continue to further our mission and the architectural profession, but provides your organization with numerous ways to connect with your target market.
