What is Charleston BARKitecture?
Barkitecture Charleston is a design/build competition of modern, one-of-a-kind doghouses and cat condos created by professional teams consisting of architects, engineers, and contractors from across the Lowcountry. These professional teams are encouraged to collaborate in order to make finished, indoor dog homes and cat condos to be auctioned at this year’s Applause for Paws Gala.
Barkitecture seamlessly merges functionality, comfort, and sophisticated design to elevate the living experience for both pets and their owners. This innovative approach integrates thoughtfully crafted, pet-friendly spaces into the home, offering unparalleled comfort for cherished companions while enhancing organization and aesthetic refinement for discerning homeowners.
The built designs will be evaluated by a panel of judges while on display at the Charleston Animal Society’s Applause for Paws on October 4th. All designs will be available for purchase through a silent auction at the event.
