The SC Architectural Foundation will host an Author’s Talk & Book Signing featuring “Contemporary Southern Vernacular: Creating Sustainable Houses for Hot, Humid Climates”. Author Architects Jane Frederick, FAIA and Michael Frederick, AIA will be present to discuss the recently-published book and sign/sell copies.
Jane Frederick, FAIA, a former AIA National President, brings a distinguished perspective on architecture, leadership, and practice, alongside Michael Frederick’s extensive experience in residential design. This beautifully illustrated book explores how time-honored Southern vernacular traditions, when paired with modern building science, can inform sustainable, resilient, and context-driven homes suited to the unique challenges of the the Southern climate.
